Adult Use Cannabis Program
The Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act provides for the controlled legalization of adult use cannabis in Illinois beginning January 1, 2020. The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation is charged under the act with implementing and administrating multiple aspects of the program, including the licensing and oversight of dispensing organizations, dispensary agents, and agent education providers. This page contains general information for the public and potential licensees about the program’s administrative requirements and deadlines and frequently asked questions.
