Possible online services disruption due to Internet related outage
Welcome From the Secretary
Welcome to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation!
As the State of Illinois’ head regulatory agency, the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (“IDFPR”) serves as the backbone of our state’s regulatory system that ensures licensees meet the legislative and regulatory requirements enacted to protect Illinois’ consumers. At every juncture, we remain guided by our northern star: our agency’s mission to protect consumers.
From Freeport to Metropolis, the Department serves, safeguards, and promotes the health, safety, and welfare of Illinoisians across the state by ensuring that licensure qualifications and standards for professional practice are properly evaluated, applied, and enforced. We also prioritize educating the public and promoting confidence in the financial services industries through a balanced application of regulations in an efficient, professional, equitable, responsive, and innovative manner. Throughout the Pritzker Administration, our team has embodied this mission and works on a day-to-day basis to fulfill our promise in making significant positive strides to deliver high quality customer service.
My commitment to you is to ensure that the Department’s upward trajectory continues; elevating the agency to the next level, one that could not have been envisioned when separate agencies were merged into a single department nearly two decades ago. Now, as we progress through this year and beyond, I am confident we will continue that path towards improved efficiency through our sustained commitment to delivering superior services to our licensees and the residents of the State of Illinois—a commitment that is unwavering.
I pride myself in working alongside some of the country’s best public servants in delivering our promise and am excited to continue to share what we have in store for you that is on the horizon.
Thank you for visiting the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation website. Our team looks forward to working with you.
Best,
Mario Treto, Jr.
Secretary
