The mission of the Bureau of Banks and Trust Companies and Savings Institutions is to charter or authorize and supervise state-chartered commercial banks, state-chartered savings banks, foreign bank offices, electronic funds transfer systems, corporate fiduciaries, and their information systems in order to assure the safety and soundness of such institutions in compliance with applicable laws and regulations for the benefit of the public.
