First-Ever Regulatory Financial Innovation Office Hours Set for July 20
State regulator aims to support emerging digital innovation
CHICAGO - Fintech startups and established companies seeking to develop new ideas and technology for the financial services market will have the opportunity to bounce ideas off of Illinois’ financial regulator on July 20th in Chicago. The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) will be hosting its first-ever office hours at Currency Chicago (20 W. Kinzie, 12th Floor) in Chicago. The Fintech office hours are a part of IDFPR’s Financial Innovation Initiative, which aims to support fintech businesses through regular engagement and education, while gaining real-time insight into how current laws and regulations are impacting these emerging technologies.
“If you’re launching a fintech startup in 2017, Chicago and the State of Illinois is the place to be,” said Bryan A. Schneider, IDFPR Secretary. “By hosting office hours at local fintech incubators, we endeavor to break down barriers between innovators and government by making ourselves available for dialogue on how Illinois regulations impact new innovative technologies.”
