A worldwide technology outage is causing disruption to some State of Illinois online systems.  We are aware of this issue and are diligently working on restoration.

Reactivate Your License

This webpage is only for professionals looking to reinstate or restore Illinois professional licenses that expired or were placed in inactive status by licensees. Any other inquiries submitted via this page will NOT receive a response.

NOTE: If you are an Architect, Barber, Clinical or Prescribing Psychologist, Clinical or Licensed Professional Counselor, Clinical or Licensed Social Worker, Cosmetologist, Marriage & Family Therapist, Nail Technician, Salon Shop, Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, Physician, Professional Engineer, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse looking to reactivate your license, please click here for specific instructions.

A reinstatement packet will be provided for licenses which expired or went inactive less than five years ago. A restoration packet will be provided for licenses which expired or went Inactive more than five years ago.

Exceptions: Detectives, Physicians & Surgeons, Physician Assistants, Chiropractic Physicians, Optometrists and Perfusionists will be provided a reinstatement packet for licenses which expired or went inactive less than three years ago.  A restoration packet will be provided for licenses which expired or went inactive more than three years ago.
